Ok I made it but for me it means no sleep. I dint sleep at all yes no sleep maybe because of excitement or maybe because of my insomnia. As early as 515am we are in the ground of the starting line. Waiting I took some pictures (which is attached in here). At first I thought there are not many participants because there are only few that I see but when the deadline of checking in is near there are lots of lots runners coming in but not many as Milo Marathon maybe because they didn’t invite schools and other government/private organization.

Standing and waiting I heard the announcer repeatedly said don’t come to him for any complaints about the race. I am annoyed because he seems to have not slept also, he is sarcastic and the tone of his voice is angry. Then the VIP people starts given speeches you cannot barely hear because the speakers was not on the runners side actually its far, adding the noise of people talking.

At last the race start but not with some issues, when I got to the half way mark there is no turn around marker/sign. This could mean problem with the competitive racer, then there is no water station. I may have missed it or it not that obvious. Getting back I have seen water container in the side walk what the!!! The water station must be accessible and obvious to the racers it’s the only compliment we can get from the organizers. This is critical to the runners.

Hey, I am running my heart out here. On the half way mark of the run I start to felt an intense pressure on my abdomen but I told myself that I need to continue my pacing, luckily I was able to reach the finish line without stopping even if I feel like dying then when I am almost at the end the marshal shout at me “sa kanan ang 5k” with anger dint he notice that I am rushing, summing up my strength for the last meter, that he has guts to do that, he could just point me to the right track not shouting at my face. But thank god I reach the end and there is water.

I gave my bar code tag which I think is useless because I may never know my standing, Then go directly to the water station to rehydrate. While resting I watch the coming racers then suddenly former President Ramos was checking in the finish line. When I saw him he gave me a nod but I just smile back. While other people near me just seem to ignore him. Maybe we are tired of politicians but I forgot that it was in his administration that this “Takbo para sa ilog pasig” was created.

So I finish another race, more practice needed and another run for the coming month.

2008 Hitachi National Criterium Grand Prix

Last Sunday on my way to the office of clean and green at orchidarium in Luneta Park to register for “Takbo para sa Pasig” . I stumble upon group of Cylers Racing around Rizal Park area. Then in Maria Orosa Street there is a big implanted arch with a sign 2008 Hitachi National Criterium Grand Prix. So it’s an events sponsored by HITACHI a Raced around a 2.4-kilometer course starting and ending at Maria Orosa Street. Here are some of the event photos. CONDURA RACE MARCH 2008

It’s been few months now that this run has been discussing on several yahoo group. So these not need any introduction or additional announcement. I think this was originally schedule for November or December last year. They have a nice website just for these event http://condurarace.com/ . I believe that they will have organize the race nicely because they have a year to prepare :o) but again like before I am not sure if I can be there, let see. The race is on March 2, 2008 of course its Sunday, 6am sharp. HAMLET in REP PHIL FEBRUARY 2008

“To be or not to be: that is the question” a line from Shakespeare famous play HAMLET. Did you know that Hamlet is the prince of Denmark who wants to revenge his father death, poisoned by his uncle? You don’t know well same here. Repertory Philippines take the story onstage from February 1 to 17 they will be playing it at 2/F Greenbelt 1, Ayala Center, Makati City. COLGATE "Oral Health Month" FEBRUARY 2008

Colgate anyone hey….. This is a family affair not bad for kids to have some activities and learn about taking care of their teeth. I don’t know about you but this is a family bonding time, so let’s go have some fun, enjoy some games and take some prizes.

DZMM "Takbo para sa Kalikasan" FEBRUARY 2008

Another run will be coming this month, this time its DZMM “takbo para sa kalikasan” on FEBRUARY 17, 2008; this is not only a month of hearts but also of “MONTH OF FEET’s because there’s a lot of schedule run this month. Obviously this is for the benefit of La Mesa Watershed and its continued rehabilitation, the primary source of drinking water of metro manila, owned and managed by MAYNILAD from Lopez Group of Companies. Now on its 9th installment. The run will kick off at Quirino Grandstand, Luneta

The following prize awaits the winners for 10k, first placer will receive 10,000, the second placer will be receiving 6,000 and the third will have 4,000. For the 5k first placer will have 3,000, 2,000 for the second and 1,000 for the third. In 3k kiddy run the winner will get 1,500 for the first, second is 1,000 and 500 for third.

There will be also special prizes for special category, the biggest delegation will have 2,000 and a trophy, there is also the oldest finisher they will have 500, for the male and female top finisher they will get 1,000 each and a medal. All the mention prices may have change by the organizer and it was not confirmed. my failed UP GIG RUN 2008

Today I have failed my run, not able to get up on time this maybe the outcome of days of staying late in front of TV what can I say I am a TV addict but its not completely that forgive me if it seems that I am going nowhere and I am loosing away on the concept of this site but this a blog is it not? I have lost my valued money but I least I was able to contribute for the preservation of the environment. I am sour grapping because I did not make it I went to register a day before the run, on the last minute just to be not on the run!!! What a bummer!!!

It should be my first time running in UP but it did not happen but there is still next year and there is another run few weeks from now I wish I could be there for a change hehehe
